Macaroni Pie
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 2 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1/2lb elbow macaroni
- 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Lightly grease a medium casserole dish or cast-iron pan.
- Bring the water to a boil; stir in 2 cups of the milk and the salt and return the mixture to a boil. Add the macaroni. Cook, stirring frequently to keep the milk from boiling over. Cook the macaroni until it is al dente. Drain.
- Place a third of the macaroni in the casserole dish or pan followed by a third of the Cheddar and a third of the butter.
- Add two more layers of each. Top with the Parmesan. Drizzle the remaining ¼ cup milk over the top.
- Bake covered, for 20 minutes; then uncover and bake until bubbly, about another 10 minutes.
