Sheet Pan Pizza
Any night is Italian night when you start with store bought pizza dough to make this scrumptious sheet pan Italian American pizza. There are a lot of flavors going on in the topping. Use your favorite tomato sauce or keep a stash of homemade in the freezer. Keep some homemade meatballs in the freezer too and take out as needed.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1lb package pizza dough at room temperature
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 8 precooked meatballs, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup thin sliced pepperoni
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- hot red pepper flakes to taste
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450F
- Brush a sheet pan with 1 tablespoon of the olive oil. Gently press the dough evenly into the pan with your hands out to the edges. Spread ½ cup of the tomato sauce in a thin layer over the dough.
- Top the sauce evenly with the meatball mixture. Scatter the peperoni over the meatball mixture. Sprinkle the mozzarella and provolone cheeses over the peperoni. Dab the remaining ½ cup of the tomato sauce over the top. Sprinkle the oregano evenly over the top and drizzle on the remaining olive oil.
- Bake until the crust is golden brown and puffy, about 25 to 30 minutes. Serve hot cut into squares. Pass the pepper flakes.
