Wine cookies

Opened bottles of wine tend to loose their flavors over time so the best thing to do when that happens is to cook or bake with it. These wine cookies are crunchy and very addicting and so easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup wine, red or white
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups flour

Directions

  1. In bowl combine wine, oil, sugar, salt and mix until well combined. Mix in enough flour to make a soft dough. Wrap and chill 1 hour.
  2. Break off small pieces and roll under your hands to make ropes about 4 inches long and form into circles. Dip the top of the cookie in coarse sugar and placed on parchment lined baking sheets.
  3. Bake ar 350F for about 20 minutes. Cool on racks; these will get hard as they cool. Perfect dippers for coffee or more wine!
