Great cooking doesn’t have to be complicated, and  it’s often the little tricks that make the biggest difference. Whether you’re baking, sautéing, or meal-prepping, these kitchen tips are the kind you’ll use again and again.

  1. Avoid liquid splatters by pouring them into a bowl or pot over a wooden spoon placed in the pot or bowl to break the spill.
  2. Separate whites from egg yolks by cracking the eggs into a funnel propped in a. glass or bowl; yolk remain unbroken in the funnel and white falls into bowl.
  3. Use baking cocoa instead of white flour to dust a cake pan.
  4. Stabilize whipped cream or hours by adding 1 tablespoon cornstarch to 2 cups cream while whipping.
  5. Don’t throw away limp lettuce; add it to soup or your smoothie.
  6. Make a moister meatloaf by adding 1 cup shredded zucchini per pound of meat.
  7. Bump up the taste of your homemade tomato sauce by adding anchovy paste
  8. Use an egg slicer to uniformly slice mushrooms.
  9. Utilizing kitchen shears, finely chop whole canned tomatoes directly within the can.
  10. Reuse yogurt cups as molds for rice or salads.
