Bursting at the Seams!

August 1, 2010

Bursting at the seams! That’s all I can say for our garden. We are a full one month ahead of last year in terms of what is

ready for harvest. The Sun Gold yellow tomatoes are coming in and are as sweet as candy.

I have already picked eggplant and made a bazillion recipes with zucchini (try it grated with grated carrots for a neat coleslaw). The basil is ready for making pesto and adding to tomato sauce and for making Insalata Caprese my favorite summertime salad.

I harvested the shallots and garlic, the onions and beets, and we are now planning a fall planting of lettuce.

Guy’s garden is so picture perfect that a magazine arrived last week to feature the bounty at its best.
