Panettone…Italy’s Holiday Bread

December 6, 2013

Now is the time to make classic panettone, that wonderful holiday bread that is said to have originated in Milan. This yeasted high rising sweet bread loaded with candied fruit is always on the Christmas table for Italians. This year I decided to make them in mini form. I freeze them well wrapped and take out what we will need for Christmas. I also make a standard large one; you can find the recipe for making panettone here. It you decide to do it, the dough can be baked in paper bags, panettone papers or large muffin papers.
