Recipe for Fresh Fruit Tart
July 18, 2011
Fruit as Art
Making a fresh fruit tart is not difficult at all. And now that fresh fruits are bursting out all over this summer, you really should do yourself a favor and make one. Here is how to construct one. Begin by making a short-cut pastry dough that is fitted into a tart shell pan and then baked. A velvety pastry cream is spread over the tart, and last a variety of fresh seasonal fruits are arranged on top. Both the dough and the pastry cream can be made ahead of time.
Be artistic in how you arrange the fruit, mixing and matching to achieve vivid color and a nice design.
You can make mini tarts too as seen below.
