Say Burrata

July 20, 2024

If you have not tried burrata cheese, you are missing out. Burrata is a cow’s milk cheese made from mozzarella and has a very buttery taste so hence the name, burrata from the word burro for butter. Formed into a ball, the center of the cheese is stuffed with stringy shards mozzarella called stracciatella and cream.

This delicate cheese is a speciality of Puglia, a region in southern Italy. Eaten with crusty bread, or accompanied by fruit or a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, it is light and refreshing and not to be missed. Here we pair it with avocado halves stuffed with fresh peaches.
