Broccoli Rabe with White Beans

A simple, hearty peasant dish guaranteed to please over and over again


  1. Ingredients
  2. One bunch of broccoli rape
  3. 2 Cloves of garlic, minced
  4. 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  5. 1 can, cannelini beans, drained, rinsed
  6. 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  7. Boil broccoli rape until crisp tender
  8. Add 1/2 of olive oil to skillet
  9. Add garlic, red pepper flakes, broccoli rape
  10. Cook 2 minutes
  11. Add beans and remaining olive oil
  12. Cook additional two minutes
  13. Serve immediately

You can add your favorite pasta with this. I can’t find rabe where I live now, so I use spinach and a little kale.


How long did they blanch the broccoli for?
