Making Pizza Dough Tutorial

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110F-115F)
  • 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
  •
  • INGREDIENTS

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in 1/2-cup warm water. Allow the yeast to proof until it is foamy, about 10 minutes.
  2. Add the remaining 1-cup of warm water, combining it well with the yeast. Add 3 cups of the flour and the salt. Mix the dough with your hands or use a mixer with a dough hook, adding the remaining flour as needed to make dough that holds together.
  3. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead it for about 10 minutes, or until the dough is soft and not sticky. Grease a bowl with the olive oil. Put the dough in the bowl and turn a few times to coat with the oil. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let it rise for 2 hours in a warm place.
  4. Punch down the dough and knead it for a few minutes on a lightly floured surface. Use the dough to make one large thick pizza or divide it in half to make two small ones.

How long do you bake it in the oven and at what temperature? Also, do you bake it alone first or bake it with ingredients all together?

How long should bake it and what temperature.?

Marie

I believe she states that the temp to bake at is 375 degrees and I would assume until golden brown around the edges. I was wondering if this recipe would work well with a baking stone too?

I love you show I use to watch a lot of cooking shows but I like yours the best because you make recipes easy and make them look easy. I’m 75 and I like these easy now but I am looking for a pizza crust recipe that you made with the “non yeast by fleishmans”. My husband doesn’t like the heavy yeast taste and he likes a thin crust so I keep trying. Thanks

Hello,
Imade pizza dough&I wasn’t sure how long go bake at 375, this dough is great but next time I will divide the dough in thirds, I like the dough alittle thinner, did the 12 inch, but the dough was very good.
I enjoy your TV shows.
Thank you for all you ideas,
Take care
Sincerely,
Mary Machado

Have tried different recipes over the years and they never brought me the satisfaction this one did. Doughted the fact that there wasn’t any sugar in the recipe but it worked magnificently. This recipe is a keeper.
